Full PhD scholarships – City University London
City University London, Cass Business School
PhD Program in Finance, Actuarial Science and Management
Cass Business School at City University London invites outstanding students to apply for the full-time PhD Program in Finance, Actuarial Science and Management starting September 2016. Full scholarships, including a fee waiver, will be offered to successful candidates.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
As part of our growth strategy we have hired several world-class faculty members across all areas of finance. This has helped to establish Cass as a centre of excellence in finance, complementing our location in the heart of the City of London. We offer a stimulating learning and research environment, and a reinvigorated PhD program. The first year of the PhD comprises a rigorous set of examined courses in the key fields of finance. Upon the successful completion of these courses students start to conduct research projects on their own while continuing their development with advanced field courses, training in learning and teaching, and access to world-leading scholars who present at our weekly research seminars.
Applications are welcomed in all areas of finance but we particularly encourage students wishing to research:
– Corporate Finance/Accounting
– International Asset Pricing
– Financial econometrics
In addition, students with an interest in conducting theoretical research in any field are especially welcomed. A full list of our research interests can be found at http://www.cass.city.ac.uk/research-and-faculty/faculties/faculty-of-finance
Cass graduates can look forward to a rewarding career at leading academic and policy institutions. Recent finance graduates have been placed at Cambridge Judge Business School, Pennsylvania State University, the University of Paris and the Bank of England.
APPLICATIONS/FURTHER INFORMATION:
Information about the Cass PhD program and the application process can be found at: https://www.cass.city.ac.uk/courses/phd/how-to-apply and applicants are welcome to contact Professor Ian Marsh, Director of the Cass PhD in Finance, if they have any questions (i.marsh@city.ac.uk).
Online application is now open and interested students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. The first evaluation of applicants will take place soon after December 31, 2015, and will consider all complete applications submitted by that date. Offers will be made based on that pool of applicants. If not all available positions can be filled on the basis of that first round, all outstanding applications will be evaluated once the second and final application phase closes on February 29, 2016.
