INSEAD Business School invites all prospects to apply to the INSEAD PhD in Management for September 2019 intake.
INSEAD is currently looking for 16-18 bright potentials who are passionate about research would like to pursue an academic career, as professors of management, to join the PhD in Management Programme for September 2019 intake.
The programme is a 5-year full-time doctoral degree that is designed to provide students with a rigorous and intensive training to become innovative researchers and place them at the best business schools in world. Offered in Singapore and France, students have the opportunity to study on either of the two locations, go for a campus exchange between the two and a doctoral exchange with The Wharton School through the INSEAD-Wharton Strategic Alliance Exchange Programme.
PROGRAMME STRUCTURE:
The programme offers eight areas of specialisation: Accounting, Decision Sciences, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Marketing, Organisational Behaviour, Strategy, and Technology and Operations Management. The fields are inherently interdisciplinary and they allow for a range of foundational and applied work. Students spend their first 2 years on coursework and research training prior to dissertation, while the last 3 years is spent on their dissertation phase.
BACKGROUND:
INSEAD PhD students come from a variety of academic backgrounds and nationalities – they do not come only from a business background, but also from engineering, economics, social sciences, etc. Students can come from direct from undergraduate or with Masters, with or without years of professional work, or no formal research experience. Moreover, there is no dominant nationality – our 80 students come from more than 20 nationalities.
ACADEMIC PLACEMENT:
Career opportunities with an INSEAD PhD are formidable. Students receive top academic and research job offers upon graduating, in premier academic institutions globally – with recent placements in Stanford, Darden, Maryland, Rotterdam, HEC, Bocconi, Singapore Management University, City University of HK, among others.
FACULTY MENTORSHIP:
Because we are very selective in our admissions, admitting between 16-18 students per year, we have a small and intimate programme, ensuring close mentoring from faculty.
FINANCING:
Students receive full funding for first 5 years of their PhD, including full tuition fee waiver, annual stipend, research and conference budget support, and health insurance coverage. For full details: https://insead.edu/phd/financing
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- A bachelors degree or equivalent from an accredited institution
- Proven academic records, irrespective of academic background
- Creativity and independent thought, necessary to become a great researcher; determination, motivation and drive to follow through with goals
- Competitive GMAT or GRE test, not older than 5 years old
- Ability to work in the English language, to be proven by a TOEFL test not older than 2 years old
- Three references, with at least 2 from academia, a personal motivation letter, CV
Knowledge of the French language is not a requirement when applying to the programme.
