PhD Program in Finance at Swiss Finance Institute
OVERVIEW:
The goal of the Swiss Finance Institute (SFI) PhD Program in Finance is to educate scholars and practitioners who make a difference through rigorous training and research.
The SFI PhD Program provides an intellectual environment and a curriculum comparable to the top PhD programs in the world. The PhD Program is offered at the three SFI campuses of Léman (Geneva and Lausanne), Lugano, and Zurich.

PROFILE:
Applicants are expected to make a unique contribution to the field of finance. Doing so requires curiosity, perspective, and self-motivation. The desire to pursue a career in academia or in financial research within the public or private sector is also a requirement.
PROGRAM ELEMENTS:
The curriculum comprises two phases: one preparatory year of intensive coursework followed by at least three years of advanced studies and research. The program covers a wide range of subjects including asset pricing, banking, corporate finance, financial econometrics, and statistical learning. There is a clear focus on the quantitative foundations of finance. All the courses are taught by internationally renowned academics.
APPLICATIONS:
There are two rounds of candidate selections with application deadlines on January 15 and March 31. Courses start in September each year.
