PhD Scholarships in Economics – University of Technology Sydney
The Economics Discipline Group at the UTS Business School invites applications from highly talented and motivated students to its PhD program.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM:
The Economics Discipline Group at UTS is offering up to 4 PhD scholarships (stipends and fee waivers) for the 2019 intake. The deadline for Expressions of Interest is November 30, for commencement in July. Self-funded spots are also available.
The UTS program offers a first-rate foundation in economics through a variety of courses taught by internationally renowned scholars, as well as world-class research opportunities. This outcome is achieved via a program of core PhD subjects, taken by all students in the first year of the PhD. This sequence of courses in microeconomics, macroeconomics, and econometrics provides the concepts and analytical tools required of every economist. Students develop expertise through field study subjects taken in the second year of the program. Students spend the third and fourth years of the program engaged in research and producing a PhD thesis.

ABOUT ECONOMICS AT UTS:

ELIGIBILITY & FINANCIAL SUPPORT:
Significant scholarship support, free from teaching obligations, is awarded competitively. There are also opportunities for additional financial support from teaching assistant or research assistant roles.

The Economics Discipline group at UTS is located in the Frank Gehry designed Dr Chau Chak Wing Building, located in the heart of Chinatown and Sydney’s thriving CBD, close to industry centres in a wide range of sectors as well as plenty of food, entertainment and leisure spaces. The campus is accessible by rail, bus and light rail services.
