Australian Government Research Training Program Scholarship (International)
Description
The AGRTPS (International) supports international students pursuing a Higher Degree by Research (HDR) at Flinders University.
- Highly competitive: Only up to 6 scholarships awarded annually.
- Applicants must demonstrate outstanding research aptitude.
- Commonwealth Sponsored Scholarship (important for visa purposes).
🎓 Scholarship Inclusions
- Stipend: AUD $35,010/year (tax-free, 2025 rate)
- Tuition offset: For up to 4 years
- Overseas Health Cover
- Relocation allowance: Up to AUD $1,485 (receipts required)
✅ Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be a citizen of a country other than Australia/New Zealand
- Be commencing HDR for the first time in Australia
- Plan to enroll full-time
- Enroll in an area of research concentration at Flinders
- Meet HDR admission and English proficiency requirements

- Supervisor Contact
- Secure informal agreement with a Flinders academic to supervise
- Include email evidence in application
- Publications
- Submit up to 5 publications, each with a coversheet
- Must be ≤5 years old
- Include explanation for selected top 5
- Publications not in English must be justified
- Applicants without publications are unlikely to be competitive
- Academic Transcripts
- Certified, translated into English
- University-level only
- Research Proposal
- ~500 words, explaining problem, hypothesis, and methodology
- Referee Reports
- 2 confidential academic references
- Referees must email reports to: rhdscholarships@flinders.edu.au
- Curriculum Vitae
- Include research experience and full list of publications
- Language & Format
- All documents in PDF, named with your surname (e.g., Smith_Transcript)
- Upload documents via the online application portal

Step 1: Apply for Admission
- Via StudyLink: Flinders International HDR Application
- Register: StudyLink Registration
- Receive Flinders Student ID
Step 2: Activate FAN
- Use Student ID & DoB to activate account: FAN Activation
Step 3: Apply for Scholarship
- Log in via OKTA on Flinders website
- Go to Student System > My Scholarship > Create new scholarship application
- Select “2025 International RHD Scholarship Group”
