
Call for Applications: Project-Based PhD Scholarship in Finance
We are pleased to invite applications for a potential fully funded PhD scholarship at Edith Cowan University (ECU), aligned with the research project “Artificial Intelligence Innovation and Asset Prices”. This exciting project explores how artificial intelligence and technological innovation are transforming financial markets and influencing asset pricing dynamics. The successful applicant will work under the supervision of a multidisciplinary team of supervisors in asset pricing, forecasting, return predictability, and machine learning and AI, includes:
• Dr Deepa Bannigidadmath, Senior Lecturer in Finance
• Dr Thach Pham, Lecturer in Finance
• Dr Viet Huynh, Lecturer in Computer Science

Eligibility requirements and Ideal candidates:
Honours or Master’s degree (by research or coursework with a thesis component) in Finance, Economics, Data Science, or a related discipline.
Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
Demonstrated interest in finance and financial markets.
Demonstrated ability to undertake self-directed research activities.
Demonstrated ability to handle big data, programming, and multivariate data analysis.
Analytical skills and fluency in Python, R and Stata
Benefits:
A stipend of $35,000 per annum (tax-free), up to 3 years
Tuition fee sponsorship
